Prof Ross King, PhD

Advisor

Professor Ross D. King is a pioneer in artificial intelligence and one of Europe’s most accomplished researchers in AI-driven science. He holds joint appointments at the University of Cambridge in Biotechnology and as Professor of Machine Intelligence at the Chalmers Institute of Technology in Sweden. Professor King’s research focuses on the integration of AI and laboratory automation to accelerate scientific discovery. He originated the concept of the “Robot Scientist,” the first autonomous system to generate and test scientific hypotheses — with Adam discovering new biological knowledge and Eve applying AI-driven experimentation to drug discovery. He is now leading the development of Genesis, an advanced platform for automating eukaryotic systems biology, and is co-founder of the Nobel Turing Challenge, an initiative to build a machine capable of Nobel Prize-level research. His expertise in AI, machine learning, and automated discovery brings a transformative perspective to Onconox’s data-driven translational research strategy.
