Professor Natasha Kyprianou is a globally recognized leader in translational cancer research and Vice Chair for Basic Research in the Department of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her work has transformed understanding of therapeutic resistance and metastatic progression in urologic cancers, particularly prostate cancer. With extensive expertise in apoptosis, anoikis, and tumor microenvironment dynamics, she has pioneered new therapeutic concepts targeting metastatic and treatment-resistant disease. Professor Kyprianou has served on numerous NIH, NCI, DoD, and AUA advisory panels, and was the first woman elected Chair of the U.S. Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program Integration Panel. She has trained over 100 physician-scientists and researchers worldwide and is a recipient of the AUA’s Richard Williams Award for Excellence in Prostate Cancer Research and the Presidential Medal of Freedom from the Republic of Cyprus.
